Quite a heavy visual post this time as we have been on holiday to Crete so I thought I would share with you the creation I made whilst we were there and a few holiday snaps.
I chose 4 bright colours from my Planet Penny cottons as I decided I would make a case for my camera
I wanted plenty of protection for the camera so I used bobble stitch to create a dense fabric.
You can see how bright and cheerful it looks here.
Not quite finished yet though!
I just need to add an edging around the flap and a fastening of some kind.
It took me until nearly the last day of our holiday to complete this, but unfortunately at the very end of the holiday ....... the camera broke!!!!
I'll just have to hope I can get it fixed or that the next camera fits the case!
Anyway, here are a few holiday snaps to give you a flavour of just a tiny bit of Crete.
See you over at Handmade Monday!
Have a good week everyone!
Bye!

Love the holiday snaps! Hope the camera didn't break because it wasn't in it's funky new case! Fingers crossed you can get another one to fit :) x
ReplyDeleteYou know me and cameras!
DeleteI've never been to Crete but it looks such a lovey place.
ReplyDeleteWhat a shame about your camera breaking, and after all your hard work too. I think most modern camera are about the same size so why not put an order in with Santa for a new one? xx
I would definitely recommend Crete, not just because of the weather but all the people we came across were so very friendly. I told my hubby what you said about asking Santa! His response was not favourable!!!!
DeleteReally love the camera case - such amazing colours. What a really great idea to use the bobbles. You should write the pattern up.
ReplyDeleteOh er! I shall have to think about that one!!
DeleteLove your camera case. Great Planet Penny colours. It does look lovely in Crete. Can't quite remember what being warm feels like.
ReplyDeleteOoooh I can assure you 'warm' feels wonderful :)
DeleteLove the colours that you've used on your case. What a shame your camera was broken!
ReplyDeleteThank you! I don't have a good reputation where cameras are concerned! but this one just 'gave up the ghost' !
Deletelove love love your choice of colours for your case! Your poor camera though, i hope it recovers so it can enjoy is lovely new home... beautiful photos of crete, glad to see it looks like the weather treated you well :) x
ReplyDeleteIt was perfect weather. Not too hot, but warm enough :)
DeleteOh I loved seeing your holiday snaps. I think anywhere in Greece is wonderful. And your camera case is gorgeous. I am going to add to one of my pinterest boards.

Thank you Ali. I haven't really got into Pinterest. I sometimes have a mooch around but don't understand much about how it works. I can't deny Crete was beautiful. I would love to go back one day - the people are so friendly :)
DeleteYour camera case is fab - I love the bright colours - you will have to turn it into a little bag if the new camera doesn't fit it, it's too good to waste!
ReplyDeleteThat's a good idea! Hopefully I wont need to though :)
DeleteGreat holiday snaps, I love the clear bright blues of sea and sky. The camera case is lovely, I'm sure your next camera will fit it ok, if not it's such a lovely case you're sure to find a use for it.

Without realising it, this was a rather colourful post all round!!! The colours in Crete were absolutely beautiful :)
DeleteHoliday heaven! It looks so peaceful. I think your camera case is great, shame about the camera though.
ReplyDeleteWe had a gorgeous week, thank you! Just wish we could have stayed longer :)
DeleteLovely holiday photos, we went to cyprus this year and Rhodes last year so Crete looks lovely too...
ReplyDeleteI love your brightly coloured camera case, popcorn stitch is one ive yet to try but on my list of things to do xx
It's not a difficult stitch and great fun!
DeleteThat lovely case deserves some careful shopping for your camera's replacement! I'm sure you can find one the right size :)
ReplyDeleteI'll do my best! :)
DeleteLovely camera case, shame about the camera! Your photos look lovely - which part of Crete did you stay in? We stayed on the south coast a few years back in Plakias and it was just gorgeous - not too built up to be very touristy, but not too quiet either and lots of rural places very nearby. This is such a good time to go, though, and I am sure you will have really appreciated a warm week!! x
ReplyDeleteWe stayed on the North Coast at a little place called Koutouloufari above Hersonissos. Perfect at this time of year but we all agreed not our kind of place at the height of the season. Would love to visit the south coast next time.
DeleteSuch a cheerful chic bag, I love it!! Well jeal or your greek adventures, I miss that sunshine! Have a great week back in Blighty x
ReplyDeleteThank you! We'll have to wait until next year for sun like this again!!
DeleteGorgeous case, I love your choice of colours - such a shame about the camera:( At least it lasted the hols so you gained your great pics:)
