Camera case in Crete!

I'll start with a 'thank you' to all who left a comment on I shall wear purple!  They were fascinating to read and I'm so glad you all liked her!  I'll keep you posted on her progress over the next few weeks.

Quite a heavy visual post this time as we have been on holiday to Crete so I thought I would share with you the creation I made whilst we were there and a few holiday snaps.

I chose 4 bright colours from my Planet Penny cottons as I decided I would make a case for my camera

I wanted plenty of protection for the camera so I used bobble stitch to create a dense fabric.

You can see how bright and cheerful it looks here.

 Not quite finished yet though!
I just need to add an edging around the flap and a fastening of some kind.

It took me until nearly the last day of our holiday to complete this, but unfortunately at the very end of the holiday ....... the camera broke!!!!
I'll just have to hope I can get it fixed or that the next camera fits the case!

Anyway, here are a few holiday snaps to give you a flavour of just a tiny bit of Crete.

See you over at Handmade Monday!
Have a good week everyone!
Bye!
x

  2. I've never been to Crete but it looks such a lovey place.

What a shame about your camera breaking, and after all your hard work too. I think most modern camera are about the same size so why not put an order in with Santa for a new one? xx

    1. I would definitely recommend Crete, not just because of the weather but all the people we came across were so very friendly. I told my hubby what you said about asking Santa! His response was not favourable!!!!

    1. Thank you Ali. I haven't really got into Pinterest. I sometimes have a mooch around but don't understand much about how it works. I can't deny Crete was beautiful. I would love to go back one day - the people are so friendly :)

  8. Your camera case is fab - I love the bright colours - you will have to turn it into a little bag if the new camera doesn't fit it, it's too good to waste!

  13. Lovely camera case, shame about the camera! Your photos look lovely - which part of Crete did you stay in? We stayed on the south coast a few years back in Plakias and it was just gorgeous - not too built up to be very touristy, but not too quiet either and lots of rural places very nearby. This is such a good time to go, though, and I am sure you will have really appreciated a warm week!! x

    1. We stayed on the North Coast at a little place called Koutouloufari above Hersonissos. Perfect at this time of year but we all agreed not our kind of place at the height of the season. Would love to visit the south coast next time.
